Hurry Up and Wait.

This was one of my sweet mama’s favorite sayings to express frustration.

“Mama, I’ll come over tomorrow morning, and we’ll go shopping together.”  Then tomorrow morning comes, and then noon hits, and then it’s early afternoon, and nobody’s showed up yet.  Hurry up and wait.

Do you know the feeling?  Being the only one ready – so ready – to go, but you just can’t seem to get going?

That’s what’s happening around our house these days.

I mean, we’re still moving forward, it’s just that progress seems to have reached the pace of a stampede of turtles.

Here’s a peek of the bus lately – so fresh and so clean!

We scrubbed about 20 years worth of grime off those ceilings and walls, and came out with this sparkle…and one tired husband!

(he was really just pretending to avoid the camera)

We’ve also got a refrigerator and a deep freezer now, so that’s definitely progress.  The other equipment has been selected, we’ll pull the trigger on those items when we’re ready to finish loading in the bus.

Hopefully, the plans will be approved by the city in the next few weeks – yes, yet another resubmittal.  I am quite sure the evaluations team must be bonused based on the number of resubmittals they require.  I mean, that makes sense, right?  Anyway, forward we go.

I’ve also got a super talented designer working with us to craft our brand.  I did the work for the original Miss Kathy’s, but I think it’s one of those things I’m too close to, and so I’ve asked for a little help.  We’re also getting quotes from mural artists for painting the bus.  Know anyone who would be interested?  We would love the opportunity to work with an up and coming talent who would love this kind of experience.

Speaking of, what are some of your favorite awesome-looking food trucks?  I tend to lean to bright and sunny just about anything, so don’t be surprised if this truck looks like something your kid would like.  Hey, that’s pretty good marketing, right?  Let’s hope!

Thanks for your patience, friends.  We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more about our snOpening day!
